The Oregon School Library Information System (OSLIS) is a state-funded program providing Oregon schools with access to quality resources supporting the information literacy curriculum. Through this program, students at Valley Catholic School have access to ebooks through the Gale Virtual Reference Library, as well as Gale electronic databases such as “PowerSearch” and “Opposing Viewpoints in Context.” Students can access these databases from the library’s Electronic Database page.
OSLIS also provides students with access to the Learning Express Library. This site provides students and teachers with content for improving their skills and testing their knowledge.
For example, Learning Express Library has basic and advanced tutorials for the following software: Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Students can also use Learning Express Library to access practice exams for Advanced Placement testing, the SAT, and the ACT. The following Advanced Placement subject tests are available through Learning Express Library: AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, AP English Language, AP English Literature, AP European History, AP US Government and AP US History.
