Course description
Game developers are much more than tech experts — they’re also creatives who use code to bring stories to life. If you would like to express your creativity through code, this course is for you. These lessons take students with basic Scratch skills beyond game creation into the magical world of storytelling. Students brainstorm and organize their ideas, use Scratch’s art tools to draw original game assets, and code story projects with many scenes and animations.

Fine Art Starts!

Get into ART! Students are introduced to real fine art skills in drawing, painting and clay to balance with their own ideas to make unique artwork. New students are introduced to fundamentals while continuing students are challenged. Each session is different and most students continue the program through 5th grade. Art class will be held on Thursdays from 2:50-3:50pm.

Art classes at VCES are taught by artist and licensed Fine Art Teacher, Ms Sascha, who has been teaching art to K-12 students for over 20 years. She teaches Art full time and was nominated for the Oregon Art Educator of the year award in 2021. Fine Art Starts is a federally-recognized 501(c)3 organization and Foundation 11 School.
