A Churchill Quote of Hope
“Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
I don’t know if there are any better words than these to describe how I feel about our movement away from comprehensive distance learning. If the shift to distance learning nearly one year ago was the beginning then I certainly hope that this is the end of that beginning.
We have all struggled with the ever-changing educational landscape but the shift to hybrid learning marks a new phase, and one that will likely last for the remainder of this academic year. While it will bring new challenges and require a continuation of patience and perseverance, it will also bring us one step closer to a return to full, in-person instruction.
I hope to write again in May or June with a message that we are approaching ‘the beginning of the end.’ I hope that a return to “normal” school will be on the horizon. And I hope that in September we are able to welcome all of our students back to campus.
