A Letter from the VCES Principal – May 2023

Dear VCES Families,

It is hard to believe that the month of May has arrived and there are mere weeks remaining in this school year. This month holds special meaning as it is one where we honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus. Pope Francis states, “Mary is a mother to every believer; Jesus would not leave his followers orphans.” Mary sets an example for us as parents through her unsurpassed support and unconditional love for her son, Jesus. Mary challenges us to follow her parental example of loving service to each other.

Last week we celebrated teacher appreciation week, a week where we show gratitude to our teachers for all their hard work and dedication throughout the school year. This year, our teachers have been showered with gratitude through notes, flowers, treats, coffee, a trip to the Hillsboro Hops game, breakfast and lunches. We are so thankful for each and every teacher who makes our school and campus community unique and special. Just as Mary sets an example for each of us to live out the Gospel message, our teachers set wonderful examples for our students every day.  We are so grateful for our incredible teachers!

Blessings,

Melissa Doxtator
