A Letter from the VCES Principal – March 2023

Dear VCES families,

As we begin the Lenten season, it is important to reflect on the meaning of this time of preparation and how we will spend the 40 days of Lent getting ourselves ready for Christ’s Resurrection. Throughout this time of preparation, we will talk about God’s love for us and how we can make sacrifices, even little ones, to help us understand the great sacrifice of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus.

During Lent, there is a call to participate in almsgiving, or “making the needs of others, our own.” VCES will be hosting a voluntary service project for students and families if they choose to participate. We will collect items needed by the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantries at our local Catholic parishes. We will collect a variety of items including canned proteins, juice and coffee, diapers, shampoo and body wash throughout Lent.  We will make a final donation on April 6.

On behalf of the entire Valley Catholic Elementary School staff, we wish everyone a reflective and blessed Lenten season, and will keep you all in our prayers.

In Christ,

Melissa
