A Letter from the VCELS Principal – June 2021

Dear VCELS families,

It is hard to believe that June is here and the academic year is coming to an end. Here at the Early Learning School, we are preparing for a summer of fun in the sun! The children are very excited about participating in engaging summertime activities and taking walks around our campus. As the academic year wraps up, I want to give you some important summer dates to keep in mind:

June 11 – No School at VCELS (teacher in-service)
June 14 – Move up day – Many students will move to their new classroom
July 5 – Monday closure for 4th of July observance

In preparation for the June 14 move-up day, students have been talking about their new room and new teachers. To help with the upcoming transition, our teachers frequently peek into the neighboring room to say hello to their future students. This gives the children time to see their new teachers and feel comfortable. Students who are not scheduled to move will experience a similar transition when it is their turn to move.

Despite our unusual and challenging year, VCELS staff continued to work daily with our little ones ensuring they received and will continue to receive a safe and nurturing early childhood experience. A big thank you to our families for the endless amount of support. Here’s hoping for a blessed summer relaxing in the sun.
