Dear VC Music School Community,
Valley Catholic Music School (VCMuS) is well underway with our private lessons! We remain excited to see the students in their weekly lessons and continue to offer quality instruction. Our registration is open and we are happily accepting new students to the program. Music instruction is more important than ever during these times as music education has proven to be highly beneficial for all students.
Here are 10 benefits of music education that highlight why it should be an integral part of students’ lives—whether inside or outside of school.
1. Language skills
2. Improved test scores
3. Self-esteem
4. Listening skills
5. Math skills
6. Making the brain work harder
7. Relieving stress
8. Creativity
9. Helping special needs children
10. Higher graduation rates
While the building is closed, VCMuS instructors continue to be remotely accessible during the closure, including the move to online lessons. Instructors have remained flexible in the online formats available such as FaceTime, Google Duo, Skype, and Zoom.
If you would like to learn more about what we are doing, please visit our website or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
For Students: VCMuS will continue to hold November recitals via Zoom. Please contact your instructor directly for the schedule.
We hope to meet some new faces and share our joy of teaching music.
Beckie Hocker, Director of Music
“I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but most importantly music, for the patterns in music and all the arts are the keys to learning.”
