Dear VC Music School Community,
Our students and instructors are busily preparing for the upcoming November recitals. Each instructor will host a Zoom recital and invite their students to perform for other students, friends and family members. The recitals are a wonderful way to showcase and exhibit the progress being made, even during these stay-at-home times. We hope to be able to share short vignettes of these recitals on our webpage and through VCS social media.
Several of our music school students who attend Valley Catholic School just completed a holiday project to participate in the Virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony. These students worked with their instructor to choose a holiday song to share as the background music for the Ceremony. We hope everyone enjoys the music and feels a sense of warmth and community while watching and listening.
We are also working closely with Ms. Pockat, VCES music teacher, to provide classroom demonstrations created by VC Music School instructors for her to share with her students. This gives those students new to music an opportunity to discover instruments they may wish to learn. Justin Bulava, our Clarinet/Saxophone Instructor, did his demo in October and it was enjoyed by all! In addition, a few of our music school students will be performing and demonstrating their instrument for their peers during class time.
As a reminder, the Music School follows the school calendar schedule. We will close for Thanksgiving and Winter Break. Instructors may work closely with you for any make-ups, especially during November when there are other no-school days due to Veteran’s Day and in-service. Please do your best to coordinate any make-ups with your instructor, especially if you are continuing to prepare for a recital.
If you would like to learn more about what we are doing, please visit our website at http://valleycatholic.org/valley-catholic-music-school/ or follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
We look forward to seeing some new faces in 2021 to share our love of teaching music!
Wishing you and your family a Thanksgiving holiday full of gratefulness and togetherness!
