Dear Music School Community,
We are excited to share a few events and opportunities for our students in the coming months.
Scholarship Auditions:
Once again, we will have scholarship auditions for interested students who have been taking private lessons with the Music School for 2 years. All recorded submissions will be due no later than Friday, May 28. Auditions will be adjudicated by two music educators from our community.
Announcement of the audition results will be by August 31, 2021. This is a wonderful experience and great learning opportunity. A letter with instructions will go out by Friday, May 7 to all participants who have signed up with their instructor. Please feel free to inquire for more information with your instructor or the Music School Office after you have received the letter.
Virtual Honors Recital:
All performers have submitted their recordings! They are now in the hands of Buddy Terry, Communications department videographer, to work his magic. Keep a look out for the virtual performance date. We are aiming for the end of May or early June! The Honors Recital is a formal performance that will be shared with our campus community, music school family/friends and through Valley Catholic social media platforms.
Spring Recital Dates:
May is a busy month, as our final Spring recitals will take place at this time. Please see the recital dates below. Anyone is welcome to attend any of the recitals. Please let us know if you would like the Zoom link to be an audience member. Our students and instructors have worked very hard to continue every student’s progress. We are really looking forward to having our in-person recitals again in the Fall of 2021!

Our Instructors:
This is a wonderful opportunity to thank ALL of our amazing instructors, especially during Teacher Appreciation Week! They have been dedicated to their craft and most importantly, to your child as a music school student. We all value and appreciate the continued support you give the music instructors and your children in order to have the gift of music in their lives. We are very fortunate at Valley Catholic to have the professional and committed staff we have. These instructors not only teach at Valley but throughout our community. This profession extends beyond just teaching through composition, recording, playing live, participating in workshops, hosting special performances, preparing students for solo competitions, syllabus advancements, etc. There is so much to be thankful for, what they do and the knowledge they share. Please consider sending a special message to your instructor to show just how much you appreciate them.
Summer Lesson Schedule:
No additional registration will be required. You may simply continue lessons with your instructor during the summer months. Registrations will only be required for NEW students. Summer lessons will formally begin on Monday, June 14 and run through Friday, September 3, 2021. The music school will have a 2-week break (September 6-September 17) with all lessons resuming on Monday, September 20, 2021. Fall registration will be open by June 30, 2021.
Summer Music Camp:
We are sad to announce that we will postpone camp one more year due to several obstacles we are experiencing. We know this is a wonderful camp filled with fun, games, and so much sharing of musical gifts. We are going to take this time to evaluate and develop an even better camp for our campus and surrounding community. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
