A Letter from the VC Music School Director – March 2022

Dear Music School Families,

Music School students and instructors had a busy February finishing our Winter Recitals and preparing students for Oregon Music Teachers Association Syllabus advancements and Oregon Music Education Association Solo and Ensemble competitions. We now look forward to spring and the beauty of the upcoming season. We hope you find music to enrich your lives even during challenging and complicated times. May everyone be blessed with the sound of music in their home!

The Flutissimos are back! We are so excited to announce our Flute Choir will resume rehearsals in April. The Flutissimos is a small ensemble of 10 to 15 students who have been playing for at least one year. They learn how to play in a small group, train the ear, blend, and have fun while performing on campus and in the community. We will look forward to performing for you in the future.

Summer Music Camp

This camp is typically held in June for grades K-6. We are in discussions to determine if this camp will resume in 2022. We hope to know more after Spring Break.

VC Music School is hiring:

We are hiring one instructor for each of the following instruments: piano, voice and violin. We are receiving new registrations each week and look forward to continue providing quality music education for our VC students and students in the community.

Instructor of the Month:

Our Instructor of the Month is Mrs. Junko Gilliland. She has been with VC Music school for 7 years teaching private piano lessons and devoting her time to our Summer Music Camp. Mrs. Junko instructs with a kind heart and personality that shows in her students’ enjoyment learning and playing their instrument.
