INSTRUCTOR OF THE MONTH

MADELEINE GENDRON, PIANO

Madeleine Gendron

Ms. Madeleine is our featured instructor for January. This season will be Ms. Madeleine’s last with VC Music School. She will be moving in March to her home city, Quebec, Canada to be closer to family. She will remain online as a music instructor to her current students through June. We wish Ms. Madeleine all the best in her new adventure and truly thank her for her 13 years of service here at Valley Catholic Music School.

Valley Catholic Music School is unique in how it provides private music lessons during the school day to Elementary students. This format is so valuable. The students are able to learn an instrument on campus, which is also very convenient for parents to avoid extra driving after school. It is a win-win model!

For many years I was full time at Valley Catholic Music School teaching five days a week from morning to late afternoon. This was very precious to me as an instructor but also to the Valley Catholic community to enhance and enrich the overall music life on campus and to prepare students for their music class, choir, orchestra and band.

In addition, the three recitals per year offer an opportunity for students to perform, which motivates the student as well as rewarding the instructor. I also offered the OMTA syllabus testing to most of my students for a continuous growth.

I started to teach at age 25 and plan to continue for as long as I can. Music brings life in the person who plays and the person who listens. I wish to bring this life inside me, around me, wherever I am and that my students will do the same in their lifetime.”
