Dear Music School Community,
We hope you all had a restful spring break and joyous Easter! The signs of spring are near, bringing hope and promise to our days ahead.
We are excited to share a few events and opportunities for our students in the coming months.
Scholarship Auditions: Once again, we will have scholarship auditions for interested students who have been taking private lessons with the music school for 2 years. All recorded submissions will be due no later than Friday, May 28. Submissions will be adjudicated by two music educators from our community. Announcement of the audition results will be by August 31, 2021. We encourage any of the students who have been with us for 2+ years to audition. This is a wonderful experience and great learning opportunity. Please feel free to inquire for more information with your instructor or the music school office.
Virtual Honors Recital: We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a Virtual Honors Recital for instructor-selected students this year! The Honors Recital will be a formal performance that we will share with our campus community, music school family/friends and through Valley Catholic social media platforms. More information will be available by the end of the month with an announcement of the virtual performance date. We are aiming for the end of May!
Spring Recital Dates: May will be a busy month as our final spring recitals will take place at this time. Please confirm your recital date with your instructor. We look forward to hearing how well the students have progressed this year, even during such an uncertain time. We truly appreciate and value our music school families in support of their children’s musical journeys!
Summer Lesson Schedule: No additional registration will be required. You may simply continue lessons with your instructor during the summer months. Registrations will only be required for NEW students. Summer lessons will formally begin on Monday, June 14 through Friday, September 3, 2021. The music school will have a 2-week break with all lessons resuming on Monday, September 20, 2021. Fall registration will be open by June 30, 2021.
Summer Music Camp: We are sad to announce that we will have to postpone camp one more year due to several obstacles we are experiencing. We know this is a wonderful camp filled with fun, games, and so much sharing of musical gifts. We are going to take this time to evaluate and develop an even better camp for our campus and surrounding community. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
